True friendship & a softy doctor
Simon loves his tractor. He calls it "John Deere". J.D. seems to be becoming more lifelike everyday. Today Simon told me:"Mum! John Deere and I are hungry; we would like some grapes!"
I was a little startled when I walked into the kitchen...he really does look hungry, doesn't he?
Thankfully, he's a vegetarian... no Linuses were hurt taking this photo!
I went to the doctor with Linus today. He didn't think much of the crying and advised me to wear him in a sling at all times to keep him satisfied. Yeah, ok, that's a very sweet idea, doctor...
Straight out of the doctor's office I went to the library where I got a stack of baby books. I suppose I'll figure it out myself. I just started reading this book and I love it so far. In fact, I browsed through it after Simon's birth and it really appealed to me then. I'm so glad I found it again.
Actually, the doctor did advice us to go see a paediatrician. Not for the crying, but for the uncontrollable shaking that Linus occasionally does when he's drinking (I didn't mention that in my previous post). He didn't have an explanation for that, so we'd better get it checked.
I'm tired. I'm going to a fabric market tomorrow in a couple of hours time, so I'd better get some sleep! I hope you'll all have a wonderful weekend!
I realize carting Linus in a sling at all times isn't the answer you were hoping for but the fact that your Dr suggested that is so awesome to me. In the US most moms don't use a sling and Dr.'s VERY rarely suggest them. Many moms don't even know what they are! I have people ask what I am carrying and if it hurts the baby! I am a big fan of baby slings and have no idea why they haven't caught on more in the US. I love to read your blog. It amazes me how very different yet similar our worlds are! I hope your little Linus is feeling better very soon.

I certainly hope you find the answer you're looking for! As for the shaking, that actually sounds like something Ronja, my 4-year old, went through when she was a baby. She would sit at the table and shake or tremble in a really weird way that made us kind of worried. However, it stopped after a while, and she seemed to be ok, so we never had anyone examine her. Hope everything turns out ok! :)

Hope you find the answer to all your problems. Lots and lots of mothers and fathers in the UK use slings..they of course not the answer to all, but very useful and comforting to the baby.

It must be so hard for you but I can understand why you wouldn't want to use a sling all the time.
I hope that you find out what the shaking is. Hugs
