What's going on?
So what's going on? Well, too much and not nearly enough, that's what.
Amber and Simon have been back to school for more than a week and contrary to what I'd hoped, I've achieved nothing. My house still looks as if a bomb exploded and I haven't touched my sewing machine since this little project...let me tell you that I'm showing some very serious signs of withdrawal!
The thing is that I have my hands full with Linus. The boy just refuses to sleep during the day! He prefers to be with me all the time, which is lovely and cosy, but my housekeeping suffers from it. And me-time is practically non-existent. I have to admit that I find that really difficult at times. I know things will all fall back into place eventually, but for now I'm still searching for the right balance that will work for our family.
In the mean time, these are photos of the felt-cakes that I made while we were in France.
i love your felt cakes.
yeah. the infant days aren't the best for creativity and follow-through. i remember that all too well.

The felt cakes are great! And as for the rest, I feel like I'm right there with you. Frida wasn't sleeping at all during the day for a long time, and even though she slept (and sleeps) like an angel during the night, I thought it was SOOO hard! Most of the time she wasn't unhappy, but still needing me in one way or another. I really think that you have to accept the fact, that it's a bonus, when you do find me-time (something I need desperately). And then sometimes you have to take the me-time from the housekeeping in order to remain sane... Remember it's only for a limited period of time. I hope Linus will give you a few hours a day soon! :)

All I can say is, I feel your pain! My 15 month old has been like this for MONTHS and it's REALLY hard to deal with. Probably since he was about Linus' age. He's starting to get better, playing with his brothers and things, but its still hard. I'm also pregnant with baby #5 so it's only going to get "worse" for me lol. It won't be long mama, at least he's sleeping good at night right?

Oh, I remember that phase- especially with my first daughter, Annie. Maybe you should just rent some good movies and snuggle up on the sofa with him and some hand sewing. As for the housework, it sounds like you either need some help or a blind eye! You'll find a way that works for you eventually x

Those felt cakes are adorable! Don't worry about the house work it will get done eventually. That is what my mom always said when my three went thru that phase each. It is hard to not stress though. I agree with sarah put pillows on your bed so he doesnt roll/crawl off with some toys for him and watch a movie and sew.
