Apparently today is the most depressing day of the year, but I´m happy to say that mine was rather good.
I finished this patchwork quilt I´d been working on since last week or so. We needed another quilt, because Michel and I are fighting over our only blankie in the evenings. The fact that I even got this project completed is a small miracle in itself... I have no idea where I found the time, but I was determined :)
Here is the whole quilt. Don't mind the bad photo or the mischievous baby.
It's fairly large, about human size (Michel is somewhere behind there).
The fabrics are, I think, a wonderful mix of modern and vintage. I bought two scrap bags ages ago from here and here and used lots of those scraps. The rest of the fabrics came from the Vintage Square Swap that I participated in. As I said, I love them all together.
The back is a thrifted duvet cover that I purchased recently. I really like the print, although I suspect it would have been nicer to have used a different (darker) fabric for the border, but this what I had on hand and it will do fine.
All in all, I'm very happy with my comfy new quilt and so is the rest of the family. Now, excuse me while I go snuggle under it!
Hi such a lovely quilt..well done, yes you snuggle under it..I would.
Did you read about that today was meant to be the most depressing day of the year....I did in our paper,..just after I got to work for the first time in a month..and after walking to work in the dark and rain...ha ha
