Today has been one of those great, relaxing Sundays. I have a love-hate relationship with Sunday: it has the potential to be a day of rest in the broadest sense of the word. A day where we as a family can relax and be together in a way that doesn't happen throughout the rest of the week. On the other hand, being so close together without the normal structures of work and school can occassionally cause irritation and boredom as well. However, today... a good Sunday!
The children had spent two nights with their grandparents, because Michel and I had a mini-break. More on that later, but yay for mini-breaks! We didn't have get up early and had a lazy breakfast of croissants and coffee. I spent quite a long time wrapping presents for Sinterklaas: I can't believe I'm already sorted with 8 days to spare! Amazing and what a relief to have all of that done.
Then lunch and a chat with my parents and the kids. We bought the children a few secondhand comics and they were happily and quitely reading. I did some crochet with my new yarn (no, I haven't forgotten about my challenge, but I just couldn't wait to start a new project). Michel helped Amber with her homework.
Other ingredients of today: cooking pudding for tonight's dessert. Some photo and book time. Hot chocolate with whipped cream. The kids watching a film together.
Now I'm off to make dough for our homemade pizza... apparently good Sundays go hand in hand with good food!
What a great way to spend the day. :) I know what you mean about the boredom and irritation Sunday can bring sometimes. I struggle with that every week because Sunday means the weekend is almost over.
Love all of your beautiful cups!

Yum stroepwafles (?)
they are the biggest treat for us. But I have to say, I'm not so fond of them now - since I had a fresh one in a dutch market when i was last there!!
